Nutrition Associates of E. Brunswick, Inc., is a group of experienced registered dietitians, working together to improve the health and well-being of the community around us. Our community is very multicultural and we try to use the newest data available. We attend conferences, take on-line courses and add innovative programs like GENE SNP® LEAP® and isotonic nutraMetrix® nutraceuticals to our business. All of the RDs have 4 year baccalaureate degrees in Food and Nutrition from accredited universities, Master's Degrees in Nutrition and some of us are accredited with specialized training, Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified LEAP Therapists which require additional education and successful passing of the exams.
All Registered Dietitians (R.D.) ARE nutritionists but not ALL nutritionists are Registered Dietitians. In New Jersey, as in many states, there are no licensing laws for RDs so anyone can say they are "nutritionists". They do not have the 4 year education, the 1000 hour hospital internship experience and have not passed the National Registration Examination to become a Registered Dietitian. We have to keep up with our education and take 75 education credits every five years to keep up our credentials.
So, consumers beware: Check you nutritionist's credentials!
