The Weigh to Better Health Program

The Weigh to Better Health program will help you establish healthy eating patterns for life. Weight is gained over a long period of time and cannot be lost with a magic pill or a 2 week diet. This program is not a diet to go on and off, yo-yo'ing from year to year, never having a plan or knowing exactly what changes YOU need to make to fit YOUR individual lifestyle.

You will lose weight and learn how to maintain your healthy body weight. Our program features:

  • An evaluation of your past medical history, medications, supplements, food intake, exercise and lifestyle patterns.
  • A complete body composition analysis is performed to determine body fat percentage, lean body mass and water weight. This is done initially, and at every visit.
  • A meal plan is developed during regular visits, and is designed to fit your personal needs and lifestyle, using a daily food diary.
  • Follow-up visits are at 2 or 4 week intervals until your weight goals are achieved.

An evaluation of current health status, lab work, medicines and other pertinent date will be evaluated to avoid drug interactions or any other conditions that would make herbs inappropriate.

For obese children and those who experience weight gain due to their medications. We educate not only the obese child but the family. We encourage those living in the home to enable one another to shop, cook and consume healthy foods. We promote nutritious foods and balanced meals and snacks, not dieting.

We see children who attended Camp Shane for weight loss to continue their progress. Kids and parents can contact us with questions and comments.
